Tomato Cobbler with Blue Cheese Biscuits

Hello, blog friends! It’s been 8 days since I last posted here, and I can’t remember the last time I took such a long break. Things have just been NONSTOP lately, with a lot of unfortunate issues arising, a bachelorette party I hosted passing, and then the whole day (4am to midnight) in NYC for work yesterday. To be perfectly honest, I’m barely holding my head above water, but these trying times always have an end right? And nothing makes me feel better than doing what I love – baking, cooking, writing, blogging, sharing. So here we are! (more…)

Strawberry Coconut Tapioca Pudding

Today I have something a bit different to share with you, as a segue into a new time in the life of me, and by association, Sweetly Serendipity. I have battled some pretty awful stomach pains for the past almost two years, and despite lots of tests and doctors visits and second (and third) opinions, all results say I am “healthy.” But being myself and living with the daily pain, I know I’m not okay, so I’ve decided to try out a new diet with the help of an experienced dietitian, to see if I can’t reign in the pain with some eating changes and work towards a pain-free life. Foodie Pen Pals March

Hard to believe it’s my third month in Foodie Pen Pals, and already almost APRIL. Where does the time go?! Not surprisingly, this month’s foodie pen pal package brought me the same pleasure I’ve experienced the last couple of months. There is something so exciting about receiving a food-filled package in the mail that excites me like nothing else. This month I made a package for Leila of Spinach and Skittles, and received my package from Brittany. (more…)

Bakers Best Caters to Boston Brunchers

Last weekend, I got a message from Renee of Boston Brunchers around 9:15am, asking if I wanted to attend a brunch that morning at 11. Kevin and I had planned to make an elaborate breakfast and have a lazy start to the day, then I had family visiting in the afternoon, but when I got her message I just couldn’t say no! Bakers’ Best would be hosting 12 bloggers at their kitchen facilities in Needham, and it sounded like it would be amazing time. So I got myself together fast, and joined 11 fellow bloggers not even two hours later. (more…)

February Foodie Pen Pals

It’s a busy week on this little blog! I have four required posts scheduled on the same two days, so I’m doubling up on posts today. Hope you don’t mind! This post is all about the fantastic Foodie Pen Pals, and my delicious treats from my most recent package. This month for Foodie Pen Pals, I received a package from Susannah at La Vie et Me. It’s like she already knew me and my crazy sweet tooth, because she sent me an all-cookies package, with samples from four incredible bakeries on the Upper West Side of New York City. I’d been to a couple of the bakeries that had cookies featured in this package before, but a couple I’ve never visited, so I was glad to get to sample what they have to offer. There was also the little note that you’re required to write to your pen pal and she clearly put a lot of thought into it. She talked about a lot of things and even suggested that I check out Village Bakery if I ever need to buy some new kitchen gadgets! (more…)

Jarlsberg and Kitchen Play

Today I’m taking part in my first Kitchen Play event, which features a new Jarlsberg product – Original Cheese Dip. I’m not a frequent buyer of things like cheese dip, but I do like Jarlsberg cheese (and cheese in general, of course) so I was excited to participate in the event and give this new product a try! (more…)

Charlotte Au Chocolat

It’s not often that I find free moments during the day to sit and unwind with a book. I make list after list of recommendations and books that have caught my eye at one time or another, “to-read” lists for someday in the future when I hope time slows down a little. I dream of the books I’ll read, of the places they’ll take me, the emotions they’ll stir, and the characters I’ll meet and fall in love with as the pages go by. Reading is a therapeutic and transformative experience, and while I don’t get to enjoy it often, I thoroughly enjoy it when I can. (more…)
