I know, I know, I told you I’m eating gluten again, yet I’m sharinganother gluten-free recipe. This is a GOOD ONE though, too good to leave out of the blogosphere, so I’m sharing it with you today. I promise, gluten makes it’s grand reentrance soon!
In case you hadn’t noticed, I really love banana bread. I’ve shared it plenty of times on the blog, and have had to stop myself from sharing it more. My banana bread obsession began back when I was a little girl. We always went to the same family friend’s house on New Years day for a big party, and someone (who it was, I never found out) always brought the same banana bread. I was OBSESSED with it, so much so that I would linger by the table for much of the party, and take piece after piece until I couldn’t eat anymore. Sometimes when you eat so much of something, you start to get sick of it, but banana bread and I will NEVER part. (more…)
Today I have something a bit different to share with you, as a segue into a new time in the life of me, and by association, Sweetly Serendipity. I have battled some pretty awful stomach pains for the past almost two years, and despite lots of tests and doctors visits and second (and third) opinions, all results say I am “healthy.” But being myself and living with the daily pain, I know I’m not okay, so I’ve decided to try out a new diet with the help of an experienced dietitian, to see if I can’t reign in the pain with some eating changes and work towards a pain-free life. Hard to believe it’s my third month in Foodie Pen Pals, and already almost APRIL. Where does the time go?! Not surprisingly, this month’s foodie pen pal package brought me the same pleasure I’ve experienced the last couple of months. There is something so exciting about receiving a food-filled package in the mail that excites me like nothing else. This month I made a package for Leila of Spinach and Skittles, and received my package from Brittany. (more…)
Last weekend, I got a message from Renee of Boston Brunchers around 9:15am, asking if I wanted to attend a brunch that morning at 11. Kevin and I had planned to make an elaborate breakfast and have a lazy start to the day, then I had family visiting in the afternoon, but when I got her message I just couldn’t say no! Bakers’ Best would be hosting 12 bloggers at their kitchen facilities in Needham, and it sounded like it would be amazing time. So I got myself together fast, and joined 11 fellow bloggers not even two hours later. (more…)
It’s a busy week on this little blog! I have four required posts scheduled on the same two days, so I’m doubling up on posts today. Hope you don’t mind! This post is all about the fantastic Foodie Pen Pals, and my delicious treats from my most recent package. This month for Foodie Pen Pals, I received a package from Susannah at La Vie et Me. It’s like she already knew me and my crazy sweet tooth, because she sent me an all-cookies package, with samples from four incredible bakeries on the Upper West Side of New York City. I’d been to a couple of the bakeries that had cookies featured in this package before, but a couple I’ve never visited, so I was glad to get to sample what they have to offer. (more…)
