Honey Lemon Lavender Cupcakes
While the weather outside certainly doesn’t show it, spring is just 2 days away! And with the arrival of spring comes a whole slew of new recipes. As each season comes and goes, I always get excited for the recipes that I’ll make, but spring recipes just might be my favorite. We’re all coming out of hibernation and looking forward to a warmer, brighter and cheerier season. As such, for this month’s Secret Recipe Club, I opted for a lighter lemon recipe, but one with a twist.

Maple Apple Ginger Cake
I have to say, I am loving the fall so far this year. Fall is my favorite season, so I guess I love fall every year, but this year especially I’m trying to soak it all in. I’m worried it’s going to slip right through my fingers and head on towards winter before I’ve had my fill, so to combat that I’ve been doing a LOT of fall-themed baking. While I’ve yet to break into a can of pumpkin (hopefully that will changevery soon), I’ve had my fill of apples and then some. (more…)
Plum Upside-Down Cake
Hello my lovely readers. I’m back! Finally resurfacing! It’s been a week since my last post, but I just couldn’t get it together until now. First I was home visiting my family/eating a lot of great food/riding my horse/relaxing, and then my better half was out of town so I spent a few nights staying up way too late catching up on my DVR. Oops?! Oh well, my life motto has always been better late then never. And for a particularly punctual person, it seems a bit ironic, no? (more…)
Chocolate Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting (GF)
I planned to write a post today about how we’re moving this weekend and I’m throwing a bachelorette party next weekend and my new job is taking some adjusting to and how there’s just no time to be in the kitchen… but then I realized I had these beauties to share instead! I made these cupcakes some time ago, during my brief gluten-free phase, but I’m glad they’ll finally get their moment to shine here because they were pretty stellar. (more…)
