Cinnamon Swirl Pumpkin Raisin Bread

I was recently told by someone that “pumpkin is acceptable [only] until December 1st” – which means I’m in trouble because December 1st has come and gone, and I still have some pumpkin recipes to share with you! The problem with getting so backed up with this blog is that I have an arsenal of recipes to share, but they are fast becoming irrelevant! I know the official pumpkin season has mostly passed, but I am still dying to share these last couple of recipes with you – so bear with me, please?! I promise, it’ll be worth it. Plus – who of us doesn’t still have a can or two of pumpkin laying around? (more…)

(Imploded) Apple Pie Bread

I’m back! It took me longer to get this post written and posted than I had hope, but here it is! I’ve spent countless hours this past week searching for a wedding venue, so baking and blogging has taken a back seat. Hopefully as wedding planning progresses, I can balance priorities better! At any rate, today’s post is not one of my best – in fact, it’s kind of a disaster! Read on 🙂 (more…)

Espresso Banana Bread

You read right… I have another Banana Bread recipe to share today. I know I’ve acknowledged my obsession before, and honestly… this probably won’t be the last time. I just love banana bread, what can I say?! This post has been sitting in my drafts for ohhh, about 4 months. That is not a joke. Why? Because I figured you’d never come back here to read this blog if I shared yet ANOTHER banana bread recipe! But then I thought, what’s one more? And I’m sure I’ll use that same logic again the next time I try to share a banana bread recipe with you… 🙂 (more…)

Gluten-Free Banana Nut Bread

I know, I know, I told you I’m eating gluten again, yet I’m sharing another gluten-free recipe. This is a GOOD ONE though, too good to leave out of the blogosphere, so I’m sharing it with you today. I promise, gluten makes it’s grand re-entrance soon!

In case you hadn’t noticed, I really love banana bread. I’ve shared it plenty of times on the blog, and have had to stop myself from sharing it more. My banana bread obsession began back when I was a little girl. We always went to the same family friend’s house on New Years day for a big party, and someone (who it was, I never found out) always brought the same banana bread. I was OBSESSED with it, so much so that I would linger by the table for much of the party, and take piece after piece until I couldn’t eat anymore. Sometimes when you eat so much of something, you start to get sick of it, but banana bread and I will NEVER part. (more…)

Meyer Lemon Bread with Blood Orange Glaze

The Daring Bakers’ February 2012 host was – Lis! Lisa stepped in last minute and challenged us to create a quick bread we could call our own. She supplied us with a base recipe and shared some recipes she loves from various websites and encouraged us to build upon them and create new flavor profiles.

Pumpkin Cranberry Biscuits

Welcome to bread post #2 today! In an attempt to get all most of my holiday posts up before the New Year, I’m doubling up on posts today, and the both happen to be on my favorite subject: carbs. I love them in every way – for breakfast, for lunch, for dinner, as a snack; savory or sweet, and anywhere in between. I like muffins and cookies and cakes and breads and biscuits and EVERYTHING else your mind could imagine. These biscuits are a more healthful carb option, because they use some wheat flour and pureed pumpkin, plus fresh cranberries for some extra flavor. They are moist, moist, moist, and a great accompaniment to any meal. (more…)

Zucchini Bread with Lemon Crunch Glaze

I visited my family this past weekend, and was thrilled to find my mom’s gardens overflowing with fresh produce. Ever since my parents built their new house last year, they’ve been  constantly working on the yard, landscaping and creating beautiful gardens. Most of the time when I am home they are out in the gardens pulling weeds, watering, mowing the lawn or planting new plants. My mom seems to have inherited my grandpa’s green thumb, because this summer there’s been tremendous growth in their newly installed gardens, tomato plants growing so tall and wide they they simply can’t support themselves, and cucumber plants in a race against themselves to see how much ground they can cover in one season. It’s all quite ridiculous, when you look at the tomato plants and try to envision my family of three at home eating dozens upon dozens of tomatoes to keep up with the crop, or finding a use for zucchinis that are nearly the size of a newborn child. Lucky for them (well lucky for ME), I was home and put some of those fresh garden goodies to use! (more…)
